Tell Me How You Really Feel by Amina Mae Safi Sana Khan is a cheerleader and a straight A student. She's the classic (somewhat obnoxious) overachiever determined to win. Rachel Recht is a wannabe director who's obsesssed with movies and ready to make her own masterpiece. As she's casting her senior film project, she knows she's found the perfect lead - Sana. There's only one problem. Rachel hates Sana. Rachel was the first girl Sana ever asked out, but Rachel thought it was a cruel prank and has detested Sana ever since. Told in alternative viewpoints and inspired by classic romantic comedies, this engaging and edgy YA novel follows two strongwilled young women falling for each other despite themselves. Do you see this? Just look at that cover! This book shows a sapphic couple on the cover... IN YA!! I'm so happy about this! This is the energy that we need in 2019! Also, the diversity! This book features a Jewish and Middle-Eastern by way of Mexico main character and a Muslim, half-Persian, half-Bengali main character. While I was looking through the early reviews of this, I saw someone say that it is an enemies to lovers tale and OMG that is my favorite trope. Hello friends! Happy Monday! Today is the last Monday for my kids for this school year! This year is flying by so fast! 😰 Anyway, welcome to another Down TBR hole post. Down the TBR hole is a meme created by Lisa at lost in a story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there. Lowcountry Bookshop (Liz Talbot Mystery #7) by Susan M. Boyer I think this was added to my TBR because I entered into a goodreads giveaway for it and considering it's #7 in a series and I haven't read any of the other books in this series (and I don't plan to); that's gonna be a no for me, dawg. Verdict: Go Brianna Bright, Ballerina Knight by Pam Calvert I think this one is another one added because I entered into a goodreads giveaway. Verdict: Go Nanny Paws by Wendy Wahman Oh, look at that, another book added to my TBR because I entered a giveaway. 🤷🏻♀️ Verdict: Go The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware I have nothing to say about this, except, it stays. Verdict: Keep The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold I added this to my TBR because I was watching a YouTube video about a local girl who went missing. I was reading the comments on that video and someone said that it sounded like this book. I actually did start reading this but I didn't finish before my library loan ended. Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner – a cute friendship and love story

It's what I do.” ― Jeff Zentner, Rayne & Delilah's Midnite Matinee First off, let me just say, I loved this book! I have heard so much (really good reviews) about Jeff Zentner's books and I hadn't read one until this one. This book was laugh out loud funny! Josie and Delia are soo funny and quirky. I wish they were real people because I know that they would just be a ball of fun! Speaking of quirky, I've seen reviews from people who thought that the quirk was too much. I, personally, thought that it was fun and light-hearted besides they're best friends, like, if you can't be silly and goofy with your best friend then who can you be silly and goofy with? Also, it is set in Jackson, Tennessee. For those of you that don't know, I'm from TN and I live just a few hours out of Jackson. I thought that was pretty cool to read a story in a familiar setting. I don't really come across many books that are set in Tennessee. Josie and Delia are so girl power and I loved it!! I am here for all of that! It also has a little romance sprinkled in but that aspect didn't take over the entire story once it did happen. Also, the romance is so subtle in this book but OMG it's sooo adorable. I hardcore ship Josie and Lawson. Also, it has a road trip! I love road trip stories, ya'll! ❤ I've talked a lot about how this book is light-hearted and fun but it also very emotional. I had tears in my eyes and I was trying so hard not to cry in front of everyone so many times! This book touches so well on mental health, parental problems and struggles, growing up and growing apart (sort of). The mental health representation is done so well and I really appreciated that. All in all I enjoyed the heck out of this book and I highly recommend it! “I’m glad things end, though. It forces you to love them ferociously while you have them. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. Today, I'm going to be talking about Birthday by Meredith Russo. Boyhood meets The Sun Is Also a Star in this unconventional love story about two teens bonded for life when they are born on the same day at the same time by award-winning author Meredith Russo! Two kids, Morgan and Eric, are bonded for life after being born on the same day at the same time. We meet them once a year on their shared birthday as they grow and change: as Eric figures out who he is and how he fits into the world, and as Morgan makes the difficult choice to live as her true self. Over the years, they will drift apart, come together, fight, make up, and break up—and ultimately, realize how inextricably they are a part of each other. I'm sooo excited to get my hands on this book! I just know it is a gem. It sounds so emotional and I know that it will give me all the feels. Also, this is about a trans teen and it is written by an #ownvoices author. I have a feeling that I'm going to love this and it will be an exceptional read. Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill I own a copy of this book and I'm planning on reading it during the fall. Verdict: Keep IT by Stephen King I own this one as well and I plan to get to it during spooky season too (aka September-October). Verdict: Keep Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind, John E. Woods (Translator) I very much want to read this but I'm torn. I am not a huge fan of historical fiction or classics. Verdict: Keep, for now The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde Again, I'm torn. Verdict: Keep, for now The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath Another one that I own Another classic that I haven't read. Why am I like this? Verdict: Keep Well, alright ya'll. That's going to be my five for today? I didn't actually take anything off my TBR list today. Next time should be better, in terms of my TBR list shrinking, maybe. Current TBR number: 343 Books taken off the list today: 0/5 Have you read any of these books? What are thoughts about them? Should I just let go of the idea of reading the classics on the list today? Again, why am I like this?
