Did I finish this book or did this book finish me?

Whew. This one was a tough, tbh.

“I’m just a druggie with a death wish.”

At first, you forget why Grave’s nickname is Grave. He’s got a death wish but he meets April and it seems like they instantly fall head over heals for each other and he’s changed his self-destructive ways. Then, quickly that turns to shit.

“You are what he needs. You’re going to be the one to save him from himself.”

Grave and April’s love story is not an easy one. It’s a hard fought battle between the both of them and the addictions that Grave has. This story is truly heartbreaking. Not just for what Grave and April have to go through dealing with Grave’s demons and addictions as a couple but also how they have to grow as individuals, too. And how they have to navigate a relationship like this one.

“She’s the one.” April is everything for me. She’s my accountability. My love and my hell. She’s going to help me fight my demons every day by giving me all of her.”

I completely devoured this book! I love April and Grave so much! 💜🖤

If you’ve ever known an addict or someone who deals with depression or if you’re someone who deals with either/both of these, then this book maybe be a huge trigger and you may want to pass on this one.

My life went to hell years ago, and I’ve had a death wish since then with fast cars, women, and drugs. They don’t call me Grave for nothing!

But I do it because I need to feel something… anything. What’s life worth living for without the high?
And then I saw her!
She’s too good for me, and I should stay away. But like any addict, I switch one drug for another, and I’ll be taking her to hell with me.

I’m anything but sweet, despite what people think, so when he tells me I’m too good for him and I’m better off without him, I don’t listen.
My life was simple before Grave stepped through that door, but who wants simple?
He makes me feel alive. It only took one touch, and I became addicted!
But therein lies the problem. Addiction is Grave’s middle name, and when he tells me he’s taking me to hell with him, I don’t know whether to take that as a threat or a promise!
