Title: Whispers and the Roars
Author: K Webster
Genre: Dark Romance
***THIS STANDALONE IS BEST ENJOYED WHEN YOU DON’T READ ANY REVIEWS OR SPOILERS BEFORE READING. GOING IN BLIND IS BEST. TRUST ME.***
When my eyes are closed, the monster can’t ever see me.
When I sing a song in my head, the monster can’t ever hear me.
When I pretend my bedroom is a playground where I play hide and seek, the monster can’t ever find me.
The darkness should frighten me.
I should worry I’ll find more monsters…monsters scarier than him.
But I’m not afraid.
It’s safe here.
When I’m inside of my head.
He. Can’t. Ever. Touch. Me.
Whispers and the Roars is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. The abuse written in this story is graphic and not glossed over which could be upsetting to some. Proceed with caution. This story is NOT for everyone.
“Whispers and the Roars will take you on an epic journey of unconditional love, understanding, and ultimate dedication. This isn’t a typical romance. There is nothing typical about this story. While many parts are ugly, it is a beautiful one if you see it all the way through.”— K Webster
Ok. So, I will do my best with this review to not give away any spoilers because, as K Webster said, it is best to go into it as blindly as possible. It will give you the best experience around this true love story. Just know, that this is now an all-time favorite book of mine! Also, that quote above is so true! It is an epic love story with ugly parts but it is a beautiful story if you see it all the way to the end.
I want to drown in him.
Death by Yeo.
What a way to go…
The pacing was so well done too. It was perfectly done for a read like this and I loved the multi-POV. They was all done so fantastically, all of them were engaging and left me feigning for more.
This book is definitely not for everyone but, if you give it a go, I urge you to keep going even if you hate certain elements of it. It made me feel everything and that’s exactly what I love about reading. I was laughing, crying and swooning so dang hard. There were parts where I actually had to stop reading just to take a breath (and maybe shed a few tears). This book is without a doubt going on the reread pile and the kind of story that impacts me in ways I truly didn’t know were possible.
“It roars and roars and when we’re both long gone from this world,
it will ripple with whispers until the end of time.”
