Tag Thursday | New Year Resolutions Book Tag

Hi friends! I’m a bit late to doing this tag (in my opinion, anyway) but I haven’t talked much about my reading goals for this year, yet. So, I thought that this tag would be a perfect place to get the conversation going! Speaking of new year resolutions, what are some of yours?

An author you’d like to read that you’ve never read:

For this it is sooo hard to choose because I know that there are so many great authors out there. I’ve chosen just a few to mention here because I hear nothing but praise for their work and they are at the top of the list of new authors for me to give a shot.

A book you’d like to read:

I have so many books that I want to read, how do I choose just one?! I’m putting Praying for Rain by B.B. Easton for this answer because I just bought it and I hear that it’s really good. Also, that cover! 😍

A classic you’d like to read:

Oh man, I don’t have a good track record with classics but I’m giving more a try this year in hopes that I can find the one (or hopefully more than one) that I praise and recommend to everyone. I definitely have a lot more classics on my tbr but I’m adding Pride and Prejudice for this answer because everyone loves this timeless romance and this is one classic that I’m actually excited to read.

A book you’d like to re-read:

I would like to reread all of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I started my reread last year but only managed to read the first book in this series so I’d like to get through several more this year.

A book you’ve had for ages and want to read:

Wow. I’m kind of embarrassed to say that I’ve had Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill sitting on my selves since July of 2017 and I still have not read it! I didn’t have this as an initial reading goal but, now, I think I’ll add it as one! 🙈🤦🏻‍♀️

A big book you’d like to read:

When I say I’m scared… 😬 Not for the reasons that you may think either. I’m not scared of the subject matter, the number of pages or Pennywise himself. I’m nervous because I was reading a review of a different King book and the ending of this book was mentioned and 😰 Also, I feel like maybe I should just unhaul this one because… yeah, I don’t want to go down that route.

An author you’ve previously read and would like to read more of:

This list could probably go on and on but I’ve chosen to only put two authors here and keep it short. I loved all of the books that I’ve read from these authors and they are auto-buy authors for me.

A book you got for Christmas and would like to read:

Sadly, I didn’t get any books as gifts this past Christmas😢 but I did get a Visa gift card that I bought books with. So, I guess that counts. I actually bought several books with that gift card but I’m choosing to add this one here because it sounds really interesting and I’m super excited to get to it!

A series you want to read from start to finish:

I don’t actually know if I’ll get to this series this year because I don’t own any of these, yet, and my library doesn’t have them. I’m really hoping to get to them asap though because they sound like they will be so good.

A series you want to finish that you’ve already started:

I would really like to finish this duology this year especially considering that I read the first book back in 2018.

Do you set reading goals? If so, how many books do you want to read in 2020?

I did set some reading goals for this year and I will talk about all of them in a different post. For now, I’ll just say that I set my Goodreads reading challenge to 100 books.

That’s all for this Tag Thursday. Tell me what your bookish resolutions are!

  1. Nice tag! This year, I’m trying to cut down on my physical TBR. My husband won’t stop bugging me about the number of books I own but haven’t read, so working on that will be a good accomplishment! 🙃
