WWW Wednesday

Hi friends and welcome to WWW Wednesday! WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived by Sam at Taking on a World of Words that answers three {W} questions.

~What are you currently reading?
~ What did you recently finish reading?
~What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently reading:

I’m reading We Set the Dark on Fire by Tehlor May Mejia. I’m only on page 30 so I can’t say too much about it except that I like it so far. I’m also reading Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I’m on page 77 of this one and what’s really aggravating me about this is the graphic descriptions of dead/slaughtered animals. I understand that it’s supposed to add to the creepy atmosphere and vibe but it really off-putting and kind of makes me not want to continue on in the book.

Just finished:

I just finished The Handmaid’s Tale: The Graphic Novel by Reneé Nault (Adapter, Artist), Margaret Atwood

This was so good and the artwork is stunning! Be on the lookout for a review soon!

What’s next:

I just picked these two up from the library and I need to read these so I can return them.

I like to go into books pretty blind so I don’t really know too much about either of these but I’m in the mood for some romance and I think Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner will give me just what I’m looking for. Also, the author lives in my hometown and I’ve heard really good reviews for his other books. I’m excited to get to this!

I’m also participating in the #asianreadathon (I will leave links below) this month for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. I’m also participating in the Year of the Asian Reading Challenge hosted, here, by The Quiet Pond. So, for at least one of those challenges, I picked up A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi. I’ve heard good reviews for this one so I’m really excited to get to this one as well.
